As we left Mr Bracey wxth h1s work we drove over to the LaForge Estate W hln we droxe 1n B1'l came out to meet us We found out that he had gone mto thx L ar lndustry He now owned a large Studebaker plant 1n New Holland As we talkld over old txmes we learned news whlch really surprlsed us B111 and Wayne the tw1ns had fxnally separated Wayne, Muscles had mox ed with h1s w1fe and lovely chzldren to Texas and settled down m the wxde o pen spaces He had just won the carload lot of Champxon Angus steers at the ln ternatxonal Wayne has xmproved the Angus breed to produce only cho1ce steaks More power to you Wayne and the jumcy steaks After leavmg B111 and com1ng back 1nto town we stopped at one of the res taurants for dxnner Whxle there we played a record whxch we notlced was played by the Worth Band We had heard from the other classmates that Nancy was play mg a saxophone now and has all her famxly playmg mstruments She really must have a lot to form a Worth Band Soon people all over wxll be hearlng your swxng musxc played by th1s famous band After dmnerg we asked around New Holland what had become of Speed Ger1ets They sald he had become an auto racer He was dr1v1ng a race car whmch has broken all speed records Now he IS trymg to wm the Indlanapolms Speedu ay M1ke should wm by sendxng h1s car around the track He has really been gomg places and we w1sh hxm all the luck m wxnnlng the speedway Wh1le asklng about Mlke they told us what had become of Bob Petltt Bob owns h1s own serv1ce statlon and supplxes M1ke Gerxets wxth lus Jetlmke gas Bob really has become an 1mportant man sxnce leavlng N H S H S Good luck to you Bob and to your Jet gas G1ve them a real send off wxth every gallon you put Whlle we were 1.n the busmess d1str1ct talkxng to some old fnends who should dnve up 1n a 1960 Frazer car but the blonde from the Class of 49 Norma Bartrnan We talked w 1th Norma for a wh1le and she saxd she had been teachlng Englxsh and Spamsh at Wonderv1lle I-hgh for a number of years She saxd that she had just re sxgned from her pos1t1on for the commg year so she could stay home wxth her hus band and also then three lovely ch1ldren Norma s three chlldren ought to know thexr Englmsh by the t1me they are ready to enter hxgh school Best of luck to you Norma, 1n the near future ll -q I 1 v I I O . - , , A . . -K . . 1 . .'u ' ' ' Q - - - u on 1 n o 1 ' ' ' ' I D Q . . . SENIOR CLASS PROPHECY As we were travelxng through l1l1no1s on Route 10 we came upon the c1ty of New Holland The sxght of It brought back old memor1es of our former classmates As we were passmg through we notxced the former McNe1l mansxon We thought we would stop and talk over old t1mes and learn what became of the other Sen1ors of 49 We stopped and went up the steps and knocked Who should open the door but our old frxend Sandra She was very glad to see us and 1nv1ted us 1n for a chat Wh1le we were there we learned Sandra had become one of the most famous d1e t1c1ans 1n A.mer1ca Sandra 15 so attracted to her work that she has lost her h1gh school f1gure We asked what had become of our old frrend B1ll Danley She sa1d he was a famous sport edltor over the rad1o She also Sald the New Holland Wxldcats were playmg for the tltle of the profess1onal tournament He should be on the a1r now so she turned the radxo on We sat there and lxstened to the basketball game and New Holland won the tltl-8 B111 w1th hxs g1ft of gab was really g1v1ng a good de scr1pt1on of the game Good luck, B111 and more gab for your news professxon Sandra sa1d she had to leave us and to make ourselves at home She saxd we ould stay all n1ght and cont1nue our Journey early 1n the mornmg We asked her who l1ved the nearest to her and she sa1d It would be our good frxend John Bracey xng Early 1n the mormng we drove out to the Bracey estate on the Great Pra1r1e Creek Rxver We couldn t mxss the place because at the end of the dr1ve was a large Slgn wh1ch read John Bracey New Holland Ill1no1s Reg1stered Brown Sw xss Cattle As we drove up the lane the Bracey tw1ns were out mn the barn yard leadmg Brown SWISS calves We stopped and got out and asked them where thelr father was They sa1d he was IH the barn tendmg to some chores We honked the car horn and John came out He was a typ1cal farmer and laughed when he saw We asked h1m what he had been doxng and he told us what he had done He called h1s w1fe out of the house and 1ntroduced us to he As she came out we knew rxght away she was the blonde from Mason Cxty We talked w1th h1m for a wh11e and then we asked h1m 1f he knew what had be come of W11ma Gehrke He sa1d that he had read 1n the paper white she was Home Econormcs teacher over 30 g1rls at Cooksvllle H1gh School and she had been 1n formed that one of her g1rls had won lst prxze 1n a cake bakmg contest at the State Faxr She was plannmg to enter thxs g1rl 1n the George Washxngbon Cherry Pxe Contest m March Good luck to you Wxlma and also to your Home Economlcs gxrls lo V . , . . . . We learned later on that Donald Maaks was Secretary of Agr1culture of the State of l1l1no1s Donald got h1s start by takmg agrxculture rn N H S H S un der the teachmg of John Sapp Mr Sapp recommended Donald as a certam County Adv1sor and through h1s great work as one Don was glven the state of hce of Agrlculture Don t forget your home problems Donald as well as your work at agrxculture As we were be1ng told about Donald Maaks an a1rplane buzzed over town The people near us sald Here comes Charl1e 1n for a landmng at hxs axrport We got ln our car and drove out to the alrport Charhe was just gettmg out of h1s plane and walkxng toward the car We stopped h1m and talked w1th hmm or wh1le He sa1d that he had gone to school and had become an av1ator Now he owns h1s own a1rport wlth all of the planes he wanted We w1sh you all the luck wxth your alrplanes and your fancy flyxng Juhl s pxcture on It It sa1d Norma Juhl was the greatest Beaut1c1an 1n the State of lll1no1s It sald to come IH and have your ha1r f1XCd w1th the new Kxnkless Kurl We drove to her shop of busmess and we couldn t get near rt for the wo men were rushlng here to try the new Kmkless Kurl she had xnvented Good luck to you Norma and to your curls We have hnally located all of our former classmates but one That one be1ng the one and only Dale Blaum Dale 1S now an off1cer 1n the Nat1ona1 Guard accompllshed th1s by h1s excellent cookmg Dale s hobby IS rabb1t ra1smg H has now a large var1ety of them Havmg found how many he had, we have to change the f1gures H1s rabbxts have just rncreased 1n number Good luck to you Dale, and keep up the good work Havmg found all of our former classmates and renewed old memones we cont1nued on our Journey As we leave New Holland we know that we are leav xng many n1ce fr1ends behmd 12 . . , , . - , . , D D I ' 1 1 B , 5 . v . .
