His ever helping hand to aid in any class activity has made him popular among the students. He proved his popularity when his classmates voted him the boy to receive the American Legion Award in the ninth grade. His Ford can usually be seen carrying classmates and friends to basketball games and other school activities. Although Glenn is uncertain of his future plans we believe he will be a success in any vocation he may choose. Anna Mary Seldom ridge October 1, 1933 Anna Mary Salisbury: Chorus 11,2,35g New Holland: Leoninus Business Staff 145. She soon showed her ability to quickly win friends when she was selected as candi- date to represent the senior class in the Safety Patrol Queen Contest. . Roller skating is Anna Mary's favorite pastime. Horseback riding also rates high with her. As a result of her commercial training, Anna Mary's choice for the future is that of a secretary at the New Holland Machine Company. Fall is Fred's favorite time of the year, for then he can go hunting. Many a day will pass, before sharpshooter Fred will not bring home his limit of game. Eugene William Palils August 6, 1934 Gene Tower City: Band 11,215 Basketball 11,21. New Hol- land: Band 13,415 Chorus 13,415 Basketball 13,415 Leoni- nus Editorial Staff 1415 Senior Play 141g County Band 13,41. I find children's activities rather boring. Yes, this was Gene's renowned line in the Senior Play, Seventeenth Summer. As Martin Keefe, he portrayed the part of a haughty friend. Gene's favorite sport is basketball. His ability to play the trombone has aided the high school band. Gene also sings in the chorus. His favorite expression is Nice, Pahls. This phrase is used to chide either himself or his twin when they pull a boner. As to the future, Gene is undecided between life as an engi- neer or as an automobile mechanic. Margaret Elizabeth Plank Donald Leroy Parmer July 7, 1934 Don Basketball 11,2,3,415 Baseball 12,3,415 Soccer 12,319 Student Council 1115 Chorus 11,415 Senior Play 1415 Le- oninus Business Staff 141. This lanky lad has helped to win many a soccer, basketball and baseball game for New Holland High School. Sports come first and foremost with Don. He always has something to say. Whenever the room is quiet Parmer makes it his business to break the monotony. His ridicu- lous remarks pop up at the most opportune times. Don always has a smile and a friendly greeting for everyone. His talent in the damatic field was shown when he portrayed Jack in the Senior Play. Don is uncertain of his future plans. fulianne Sensenig September 12, 1934 Julie Senior Chorus f1,2,3,41g Leoninus Business Staff 141g Tri-Hi-Y President C313 Senior Play 1413 Patrol 131g Color Guard Q41. Julianne is the wee member of the senior class, 5 feet 1 inch to be exact. When the class first met her, eight years ago she was a timid quiet little girl with long black braids and freckles galore, but time marches on! Julie has outgrown her pigtails, her freckles have all but disappeared, and she is no longer the bashful uneasy miss she was then. Yes, Julie's grown upg she just hasn't grown tall! If Julie had a middle name it might be dependability. When she heads a committee, it's certain to function. A commercial student, Julianne hopes to find a secretarial position after gradu- ation. Patricia Ann Shirle January 16, 1935 Pat Color Guard 43,415 Patrol f2,3,41g Leoninus Business Staff C413 Chorus C1,2,3,41g Tri-Hi-Y C315 Senior Play 1. Who's that giggling back there by the lockers? Yes! It's Pat! She loves to have fun and often can be seen with a group of kids, laughing and talking excitedly. Pat has been a member of our class ever since first grade. She loves to sing and is an active chorus member. Pat portrayed her part as Margie well in the Senior Play. A part-time job at the Machine Shop claims much of Pat's spare time. Her future might center about the business world, but we feel that little white bungalow might be important. Paul Rzclzard Shirk August 17, 1934 'fshn-kia Soccer Q2,3,41g Chorus f41g Tennis f2,3,41g Leoninus Business Staff 141g Basketball f3,41. Paul has been a member of our class ever since he entered school as a first grader. This well-liked fellow's main interest is sports. l He has been an all-round athelete receiving letters in soccer, tennis and basket- ball in the last three years. Shirkie has always been a valuable asset to our class, espe- cially with his electrical knowledge. Having done the wiring for both Junior-Senior Reception last year and the Senior Stand this year, he really earned appreciation of his classmates. Paul's future plans are uncertain but we would venture a guess that the electronic industry will enlist him.
