Kicking off the annual Sadie Hawkins carnival and dance, students swarmed to the numerous club booths to test their skills, buy pottery, play games, purchase refreshments and put the peo- ple of their choice in jail (for a slight fee). After the traditional chase, in which girls were set free in the gym to catch the boys Daisy-Mae style, Tug Pierson and Tami Beatty were named king and gueen of the event, and Larry Helmke and Candy Darnell were awarded hon- ors for best costumes.
