Dogpatch Day draws crowd Barefoot Ball , the Seniors ' Sadie Hawkins fair and dance on April 3, was well supported with about 400 students attending. Original booths including Latin Club ' s ping pong throw, German Club ' s dunking booth and Clerical Lab ' s popular Hillbilly Haven movie theater pro- vided the night ' s entertainment. The Girls ' Gym decorated in country style boasted a hugh still in the middle of the dance floor. Marri- age ceremonies complete with rings and certificates permitted the girls to marry their favorite guy with Mr. Schilling officiating. After the marriage ceremonies, Senior Gary Peter- son was crowned King Schmoo. Testing their speed and physical ability at the Junior Olympics are couples Kim Goodin, Lana Baker and Kim Netherland, Danny Grimm. Typical of the couples attending the Barefoot Ball , Sopho- more Billy Meredith pins a daisy corsage on her date. Senior Doug Lohse.

A Time for Us boasts medieval decor Hosting 280 prom couples, the juniors presented A Time for Us on May 2 in the Scottish Rite Ball- room from nine to midnight. Many hours of planning were culminated when dates danced to the music of Jimmie Steer and his orchestra under many colorful medieval banners and shields suspended from the ceiling. The theme song for the evening, A Time for Us — the Love Theme from Romeo and Juliet , was play- ed during the coronation of juniors Kevin Mattingly and Lana Baker as king and queen of the prom and during the presentation of the court. Thejunior parents presented Signs of the Zodiac , the after-prom party at the Oaks with Lucy Grey providing the music. Late hours and trips to the Pokagon State Park and the Indiana Dunes topped off the weekend. Entering the ballroom. Senior Jackie Snyder is escorted by a Sophomore medieval page. 1970 ' sProm King, Junior Kevin Mattingly is crowned by retir- ing Senior Queen, Joyce Siegers. Couples dance to the music of Jimmie Steer ' s orchestra.
