Bulldogs break from rigid routine Students and teachers take time out from a trying day to relax at the Future Teachers Christmas Tea. Open lunch hours provide time to pick up a quick one , cool off, and meet friends in a relaxed atmosphere. Seniors Jerry IVIazock and Jack Rockeby let off steam by shooting baskets in some spare time. Is Senior Doug Beatty really studying Government, or is he possibly more interested in something else ? Despite pressing study and work schedules, New Havenites found tinne to relax. The different ways in which Bulldogs diverted themselves were as numerous as the number of students. With time being such a precious element, students did that which they enjoyed most. Meeting with friends at the local hang-out, loafing at the public library, or simply being alone to gather one ' s thoughts passed time for many Bulldogs. Others preferred a few silent minutes to catch a quick snooze after last night ' s cramming. Regardless of how the spare time was spent, it was a time when the Bulldog was free to do what he pleased, to let loose and express his true self. As the school year progressed, life became more and more hectic and these spare moments became more precious to New Havenites.

Happening ' 70 lacks audience Happening 70, New Haven ' s annual talent show was again sponsored by Fine Arts Club. Competent crew members and 27 entertainers performed for an audience of about 60 people on January 20. Exceptional talent included singers, dancers, pia- nists and comedians. Humorous acts taken from TV ' s Laugh-In and Hee-Haw amused the audience while the stage crew changed sets. Group production numbers proved to be overwhelming successes, es- pecially Senior Tami Zimmerman and Juniors Jan Winicker and Pam Schinnerer ' s song and dance num- ber, Big Spender . Emcee Senior Don Wharton jokingly kept the show moving. Happening ' 70 lacked only an audience, but for those attending, entertainment was provided by a very professional looking group. Senior Don Wharton, a favorite of Happening ' 70 , plays one of his own compositions. Peter Gunn is the bacl ground music for a modern dance performed by Junior Brenda Reginald.
