The sponsors of the Student Council are Mrs. Lois Sidell and Miss Opal Bower. Meetings are held each Tuesday in the library. Student Council played a major part in planning the Hallowe'en Festival last fall. They also sponsored the Snowball Hop, an annual affair. Most of the assembly programs are arranged by the Student Council. In addition, the election of cheerleaders is handled by them. The monitor lists are arranged by the Vice- President. The band has 45 members. The band officers are as follows: Captain, Bob Wieseg Quartermasters, Thomas Ada ams and Bruce Bone: Secretary, Carla Davidg Librarians, Beth Parent and Janet Benton. During the fall the band marched at football games and participated in the marching contest which was held here. Among the trophies won was the sweep- stakes trophy for having the best band. Winter activities included basketball games and pep sessions. On February 7 the annual district solo and ensemble con- test was held at Harrison Hill. On Febru- ary 21, 26 solos and ensembles went to Butler Universityg eight came back with a superior rating. The band presented the winter and spring concerts and took part in the commencement exercises. Al- so in the spring the banquet was held at which awards were presented.
