Senior Class Officers Kieth Ernenhiser, President Lois Rosswurm, Secretary Ervin Kleber, Treasurer Wanda White. Vice-President l One hundred and twelve new faces appeared in the corridors of the .New Ha- ven High School in the fall of 1945. Green, timid freshmen, as the saying goes, described us very well. Our first year was full of parties. sports, and getting into the wrong classrooms. Mr. Earl Marshall and Miss Evelyn Knull, now Mrs. Conk- lin. were our sponsors. In May we became sophomores. Ninety-two sophomores greeted each other once again in the autumn of 1946. We also welcomed a new sponsor. Miss Marge Eichel, now Mrs. David Potts, who took Miss Knull's place. One of the outstanding events of the year was the class tourney. We all converted ourselves into Gypsies and took first place. In May we were promoted. yes, once again, but this time to juniors. There were seventy-two left in our junior year. This was the year to which we were all looking forward. The junior girls were the champs in basketball while the boys were the runners-up in their tourney. We had our first experiences in operating the canteen that year. We worked very hard in the canteen because we wanted to put on the best Prom that the high school had ever had. High honors were given to Ruth Wiese, Prom Queen, Kieth Emenhiser, Prom Kingg Rhea Har- vey, Thelma Voors, R. D. Thimlar. and Marvin Meyer were their attendants. Nine juniors. Ervin Kleber. Theodore Black, Thelma Parker, Donna Ballinger, Wanda White. Lois Rosswurm, Ruth Wiese, and Mary Ann Bremer, were taken into the National Honor Society in April. We then turned our thoughts toward being seniors. In the fall of 1948 sixty-five seniors remained to take the last few steps of our high school education together. Waunita Davis was taken into the National Honor Society. We won the honor of selling the most season basketball tickets. Once again the girls retained their championship in the class tournament. We also sponsored the St. Valentine's Dance in February. During this year of school, Ruth Wiese and Kieth Emenhiser rendered their thrones to the junior king and queen. Janet Hockenieyer, Bonnie Stoneburner. Ervin Kleber, and Eugene Meyer were given the honor of attending the king's and queen's court of 1949. We have now taken our last steps together as the senior class of '49 and are going out into the world to make new friends. No, we shall never forget our classmates, and our wonderful sponsors, Mrs. Potts and Mr. Marshall, who perhaps, were the only ones to understand some of the things we have done.
