Provfczles Many ACfl.Ul-f7.QS ' The general purposes of the Girls' Athletic Association are: To have every girl in some sport activity and to promote sportsmanship. Regular meetings are held every third Thursday of each month. Activities of the G.A.A. in 1947-48 included a Weiner bake in the fall to welcome freshmen members, a softball tourney, the basketball tourney on March 5, and volleyball. Two basketball teams journeyed to Concordia and encountered Concordia's teams. Both New Haven teams were victorious. The annual G.A.A. banquet was held on April 22 as a farewell to senior members and for the initia- tion of new officers. The G.A.A. is sponsored by Mrs. Wanda Nowels, physical education instruc- tor, and was under the leadership of the following officers: President, Betty Fultzg vice-president, Ruth Wiese: secretary, Marilyn Sturm, treasurer, Lucille Doctor, and news reporter, Marceil Vodde.
