uniom lflecause of the shortage of tires and gasoline. we juniors were imahle to have many of the extra-currieular activities which are commonly enjoyed during the junior year. ln spite of this. the class of 4.t has been active in many projects. Members of our class were represented in all the organiza- tions ofthe school. which included Sunshine Society. G. .X. A.. Masque and Gavel. Mirage Staiif, and the liand. The junior Class had three home rooms. liaeh individual room had a representative on the Student Council. These representatives were lletty liuhl. Pauline NYerling. and XX'illiam .'X11XYQllL'l'. lfarly in the year the class elected XYilliam lloeglein, president: XYal- demar lleller. vice-president: l.alJonna lqilllllltdt. secretary: l'aulinc Wicrllllg. treasurer. XYith the help of our class sponsors, Mrs. Redman and Mr. l'ensinger. we had a profitable year in the school canteen. XXX- had a short class party which featured a bingo mixer game. at Christmas time. This party was en- joyed hy the whole class. During Activity periods. our home rooms had many projects. lu- cluded in these were plans and the actual performance of a junior song-fest. XYar stamp drives. interesting programs in observance of special days. and talks hy students helped to make our activity periods .fXctive . Four of our classmates. Tom l-laillie. Richard llyer. Russell hlacijuay and XYallaee Quandt left to join the armed forces. l'hyllis Edgar. Rita Girar- dot. .loseph Isenbarger. lfdmund flrtlih and llewane Thompson left to take jobs. john XYright is now attending the Chester lligh School near North Manchester. lJeYon Frane and XX'allace Quandt were the outstanding athletes of our class. They acted as managers of the class team in the class haskethall tournament. Uthers who were on the junior team for the tourney were XYright. Harper. Meyers. Stellhorn. F1-oscli. hlacquay. .-Xnweilei' and Heller. Norma Milliman was chosen to lead the class yells in the tournament. The class had in its membership girls who were active in athletics. The lvaskethall team composed of Maxine fiirardot, .Xlma Yodde. -lean Larson. Norma Milliman, .loann llandelier. .loan Krug. .Xliee Tiemann, and lflna lleck- er. won the class championship. llonnabelle Kitchen. vice-president of the fl. A. A, was the only junior girl to receive her letter. ln the Masque and iiavel. our dramatic clulm. we juniors were out- standing. There were ten junior memliers: Yirgil Asher. D. Kitchen. .lean Lrason, ,lohn Meyers. Norma Milliman, Clara Ransome. l.alJonna Rohinett, Russel Schweyer. Harhara Seihert. and Pauline XYerling. In three of the plays given, the leads were juniors: Lalloima Rohinett as Susanne, in XYash- ington Through the Keyholeui Norma Milliman as .Xnita in Last Night's l'aper : and Yirgil Asher as the King in The Queen XYho Couldn't Make Spice Nuts. For the first time in the history of the New llaven High School, the juniors had a l'rom which replaced the traditional .lunior-Senior banquet. The crowning uf the Queen was the outstanding feature of the Proin which was held in the gymnasium May 7. Page .Ninsl
