Sou have given many illustrations of your patriotismg you havc furnishmd cvidcncc on many occasions that you art scriously striving to do your part- you haw participated loy'1lly in air raid drills in campaigns for raising monc y and in strvices demanding personal sacrifices. Furthermore, in spite of the disturbing influence of war, you haw been sane in your attitude toward lifeg you have tried to get the most out of the educational opportunities offered youg you have been pleasant and unruffled in the midst of distractionsg you have made it clear that. although our country is at war, you believe the highest ideals of life are worthwhile. This splendid spirit shown by you and other youth throughout our broad land bodes well for the successful consummation of this war. Hence. I have com- plete confidence that, as you leave this school, you will go out into a confused civilization with the firm resolution that all which we hold dear in life must be preserved. It is my wish that the dire darkness of war will be supplanted soon by the shining sunshine of peace and that brotherly love and justice will prevail among all peoples.
