Success led to the establishment of a similar plan at Eaton. As the cnrollment increased, in 1859 the two groups were moi ed to the Young Menis Institute building on State Street. In 1863 the school was moved to new quarters, the Lancastrian School building on the corner of Orange and VVall Streets, where the Orange Street School now stands. In 1872 the original Hillhouse building was constructed on that same site, and in 1897, because of the crowded conditions, about one hundred freshmen were transferred to Board- man Manual Training School. which was erected in 1894. By 1898 the ever- increasing enrollment brought about the construction of a new building on York Square, the present site.
