Not up that thin. little. winding trail! I cannot go there ! T cried. But over here is a wide, white road . . ' I longingly turned aside. just look! I pointed. It isn't far. And it's quiet and clean: and where It comes to an end is a little house, And we shall be happy there. But you shook your head and eagerly raised Your eyes to the cloud-Capt peak. I love the strength of the mountain wind. And this is the life I seek. But a hazy mist on the summit lies, Which may lead your steps astray! And you cannot see what that veil would hide.
