illnrmnnrh .. .. It is with mingled feelings of joy and sadness that we present to the Class of 1934 this biographical memento of four years of high school life-the Elm Tree. Representing as it does, tour years of scholastic endeavor, athletic aspiration, and all the inti- mate phases of class activity, it is wholly fitting that this hook he held as a treasured keepsake through the years to come when stu- dent days at Hillhouse will be a dim but precious memory. We, of the Elm Tree board, fully aware of the honor accorded us in being selected for this responsible task, take this opportunity to express our gratefiil appreciation to those. who. by their un- selfish assistance and friendly criticism, have lightened our labor in no small degree. Especially do we value the splendid co-opera- tion of Mr. Kirschner, Mr. X7Ventworth, Miss Sheridan, Miss Hatch and Miss Bowdy ofjthe faculty. If we have produced a noteworthy edition. the credit must be shared with these who so generously helped as the work progressed.
