I :- 0 O 0 O 7 B l noticed in this evenings paper that Bob Dugan who has recently made a million in oil stocks, has opened up a minimum corporation in .f'Xfrica, and is hir- ing Gordon Hastings to manage it for him. Ed Hendrie is a popular surgeon in Italy, and while I was in lfurope I also met Bill Moore tthe follow who loaned his flashy neckties and socks to Miss Green- wood with which to decorate the gymj. lie is trying to solve some of the trade problems in Russia. The Soviet Leader tl.eslie York, 'the handsomelj is very obstinate about commercial matters. Rita Eagan spends all her leisure hours at Monte Carlo. She gets from three to six proposals every week. Une came from Frank Cammarano whom Rita im- mediately squelched. Helen Iiebabian, who is also there, has been married and divorced three times. Some duke is rushing her now. I went to a bridge at Sandy Horton's home last month. Dick Burke, Dick Lynch, and Edith Stiles were among those whom I knew. Harold Banquer was there also and he told me that he was a stage manager in a Broadway theatre and a poet in his spare time. Midge Geddes, Kay Foran, Frances Alden and Marion Duffy are the proud owners of a dress shoppe on Fifth Avenue. They invited the girls to their annual fashion parade which they are holding next Friday afternoon. Dot Becker, janet Pearce, and Doris Baldwin are among their mannequins. John Hastie and Frank Cameron censor all the gowns before they can be sold. Helen Taylor has established a beauty parlor, and continues to charm Al Dyer who comes in every day for a manicure. Ida Themper is a school teacher in Maine. Wihen Mil Haesche was doing social work there, she could hardly dis- tinguish Ida from her pupils. Mort Krall, Bill Stewart, and Johnnie Burns are playing professional football in New York. l suppose you've heard that janet VVilder has broken all records in track swimming and has beaten all the best tennis players inthis country and in England. Dick Barrows turned his natural propen- sity to advantage, and writes 'VVhat The lVell-Dressed Man Vlfill XYear' for sever- al magazines. Of course we had both read of Bill Mitchellys success as an architect and re- called that Bill had always had a good head for building Cwooden buildingsj. Dick Lyner had also got himself in the papers by the popularity of his Euro- pean three-ring circus. Of course Dick would make a success of a circus! My memory was just about exhausted by this time and so I had to use my imagination for a while. l told Bud that Butch Constantino had entered the ministry and Rosalie Schroeder had joined the Salvation Army but he laughed so that I decided I had better stick to fact. As we drove into the city I realized that his thoughts of our high school days had made Bud forget the accident of the afternoon. So I restrained the impulse to ask him to our hotel for dinner, and decided that my husband's conversation and obscurity would be pleasantest while we remained in town. 27
