New HAVEN HIGH SCHOOL CL.xss Boox 9 XX'e must not overlook the teas, which the' B. 'T.-, Alpha Al- pha, Kappa Mu Sigma and Phi Sigma girls gave to the different classes. No longer were the callers afraid to go in when they reached the house, for they were Sopihomores and therefore above bashfulness, at least before the Freshmen. . One morning when we came to school, great Haming paste-: greeted us at every corner. These informed us that the Theta Sigma Fraternity would give their annual entertainment and danceu at Music Hall. The f'Crescentl' and Radiator', dances followed. More of us than ever, attended them, for we were beginning our social life, which was to last for three years. At the close of the school term at Christmas, a farce entitled Thirty Minutes for Refreshments was given under the direction of the School Circle. It really seemed as if lots,' of good things were coming our way. Then came the dance given by the Class of 1907. A few of the favored ones attended this and had a splendid time. Last, came the exams! How we tried to put the dreadful thought from us! How we tried to assume the care-free look of the Seniors! But, as much as we tried, we couldn't do it, and shook in our boots, if anyone even mentioned exams. But as all great difficulties are overcome sooner or later, our exams, to our delight, were passed off successfully and we stood dignified juniors. So went our Sophomore year with all its joys and sorrows. Looking back on our High School course, we consider it a very happy year indeed. And now when this year has gone, And another we see drawing near, XVe can say, 'lYe've been friends true and faithfulg' A tender, 'FareWell, dear old yearf Ruth Huntley Heimlzgfway.

No more could the upper classnien call us HScrubs, and make such sneering remarks as Oh! isn't she cute 7, or 'fVX'here's your nursemaid, little child 7, All during our Freshman year We had dreamed of this -time, thinking it would be the Htinie of our livesf, And now,-now, it had come and we could have our revenge on those innocent scrublets. No sooner had we become accustomed to Sophomore life, than came the call for football candidates. After much practising and after a long series of games, nearly all of which we won, We carried away the 'championship at Middletown, from the Hartford High School. Then came basketball and hockey. Need I say that in these games, to-o, our teams excelled? just about this time the girls of the junior class issued invita- tions ito their Junior Fair. Of caurse, we all had to go and see how this great work was carried on. For, you see, we should have to give one the next year, and ours must be the best ever yet given.

Even the most carefree student thought he must study some, and he thought rightg the athletes, more especially at this time. the football men, had to work hard or there would be a vacant place on the team for someone else to Fill: the grinds had time for nothing but their studiesg and some of our brilliant lights referred to their text-books at home occa- sionally. But then, we were upper-classmen. and that honor was suflicient compensation. After getting used to the shock our teachers had prepared for us, some of us found time to see a football game or two. The season started in yery poorly. but keeping it in mind that a good beginning makes a bad end, we hoped fo-r better things. And our hopes were not in Vain,-for, although we were not in any league, a number of big games had been arranged. Among these was one with the NYesleyan Freshmen, on October 19th, for which the score stood I6 -to 2 in our favor. On the twenty-third, we
