I2 New I-liwi4:N H1111-1 Sci-iooi. Ciaxss Book. who could not and would not refrain from udoing as they had been done by. This year marked the consolidation of the athletic teams of Hillhouse and Boardman, and seemingly, as a direct result of the union, the football chanmpionship in the Trinity League was won by the team under Captain Green. In December, the Forum, Boardman's school paper, com- bined with the Crescent, Hillhouse, thus producing a paper well edited and well patronized by both schools. A new paper, the Focus, edited by the scholars whom the faculty considered as having the greatest literary ability, appeared in Boardman, in January, IQO3. The farce, My Class Day, was presented in the latter part of january by the Radiator, and was followed by a very enjoyable dance. ln May the Crescent gave its annual dance and very ably entertained those present with the farce, The New Reporter, coached by Franklin Johnston of Yale. During the year the new Hillhouse building, at our rear, was fast being completed, so that after the Easter vacation it was ready for the scholars to occupy. They came the first day after vaca- tion, headed by that now historical German band, which brought us all to the windows to see them File by and take possession of their new Hillhouse. Although the two schools were not com- bined this year, the impending union was more clearly than ever brought to our minds and many were the discussions over the pros and cons. Wfith their coming we were prohibited from our delightful strolls on Broadway and were restricted to York Square. At last the Sophomore Year was over, half of the course com- pleted, and soon we were to return again as upper classmen, no longer to Boardman, but to New Haven High School. Let us never forget the true Boardman spirit that we gained in these two past years, and ever keep it with us as we advance in life step by step. Rafplz TV. Nichols.

I4 New HAVEN HICi1'I Scnoor. CLAss Book. About this time, the girls of the three upper classes were delight- fully entertained by a tea given by the B. T.- Society. Later on in the Spring. a similar tea was given to the girls of the Freshman class. The Thanksgiving vacation was hailed with joy, and :furnished a welcome break in the ordinary round of school work. The poor of the city were remembered by an offering much larger than usual. Christmas and New Year had come and gone almost before we realized it. During the winter months a few of the more profound thinkers of the junior class organized the Chess Club, which held sessions once a week on dreary afternoons in room IO4. The School Circle was also organized for the purpose of bettering the school. At this time the movement toward our athletic field began. and plans for its laying out are already in progress. The Radiator and Crescent entertainments formed the chief social functions of the Spring, and their dramatics and dances were greatly enjoyed. The Alpha Alpha Sorority gave a tea, to which the girls of the school were invited. The debate between the Sophomore Society and the Juniors and Seniors resulted in favor of the Sophs. The County Home Club is to be complimented on the success of their fair and entertainment given in Harmony Hall, May 7th. The profits have gone toward introducing manual training into the County Home. A successful entertainment was given before the school, in the Auditorium, in which a bust of Wfashington was presented by Dr. l3aldwin's Historical Society. The orchestra, which had been revived under new management, filled the Auditorium with lively airs. ' Toward the close of the year, the inter-class track meet was held at Yale Field, and attended by a large enthusiastic crowd. Although the Seniors won, the juniors did their part with credit. A similar meet is looked for this year. VVe felt the temporary absence of Miss Sheridan keenly, but rejoice that she has been able to return this year. The recollection of the long succession of substitutes, which we had during the year. recalls many an escapade at their expense.
