WE DEDIC TE... A simple thank you seems little return for the self-sacrificing devotion. genuine character. honesty. and--most of all-human understanding of a cer- tain teacher at N.H.H.S. She has not only given tirelessly of her time and talents. but she has in- stilled in the students standards of character and integrity, seldom surpassed. The true quality of understanding and the beauty of friendliness that surrounds her has lifted the spirits of those with which she comes into contact as she is ever ready with her warming smile and helping hand. By teaching the forms of proper government and English by lectures, class discussion, and diagrams, she fills an important need in the educational pro- cess of N.H.H.S. But more than just a teacher of government and English, she has aided and inspired her students to achieve the very best in life. In acknowledgment for her contribution as an educator and person, the staff of the 1959 IIANOVERIAN dedicates this yearbook to a woman who has taken a sincere interest in students, and who has always been willing to give her loyalty, help, and friendship to all - Mrs. Ruth Warren. The wholesome lectures. discussions, and diagrams Mrs. NX'arren chats with fellow teachers over a meal in the cafeteria. The Seniors of New Hanover High School will always hold a spot dear in their hearts for their teacher, friend, and counselor. This teacher whom all know and admire stands out in the everyday life of the school. She is one to look up to, one to follow, and one to honor.
