ball tennus and track The coaches are Leon Brogden Tom Davus Jap Davus and Leo Harkuns for lunuor varsuty the coach us Mr Wfallace West The Tennus Club was organuzed thurteen years ago for the purpose of promotung thus sport un the school The Monogram Club was organuzed two years ago and us to be desured yea more than much fine gold Any boy who has earned warsuty letter 19 eluguble for membershup The purpose of thus club us to create a better athletuc program by upholdung hugh morals and clean sportsunanshup and to see that vusutung teams are entertauned properly when they vusut our school The cheerleaders are rught there when we have a game and they are always ready to cheer our boys on There are twelve cheerleaders eught gurls and four boys elects uts ofhcers and seven other members of the class to serve on the leguslature whuch makes up the laws of the school The executuve councul sees that they are enforced and the juducual branch sees that justuce us guven to those who dusobey these laws Socual marshals are elected by the leguslature to usher at xaruous school actuwutues The hughest honor that a student can receuve durung hus school career us to become a member of the Natuonal Honor Socuety Members are taken un twuce yearly from the unuor and Senuor classes and are elected on the basus of the four cardunal objectuves for whuch thus socuety stands scholarshup leadershup character and servuce A student must stand un the upper thurd of hus class Another hugh honor that can be bestowed upon a boy or gurl us to be elected unto the Hu Y Club Members are selected on the basus of Chrustuan -f17 character Only a lumuted number are selected for membershup un the club The Declamatuon Contest us one of the outstand mg annual features of the school It us sponsored by the Luon s Club and the Englush Department There 'ure four dux usuons freshman and sophomore boys freshman 'und sophomore gurls junuor and senuor boys and lunuor and senuor gurls Pruzes are awarded to the successful boy and gurl de claumers un each dux usuon At the end of each school year a day us set asude on whuch the students receuwe recognutuon for perfect attendance scholarshup, and honors be stowed upon theun by school and cuvuc organuza tuons The letter ll and stars are awarded un the followung sports football baseball basket ball tennus and ruflung The Foy Roe Trophy us presented each year to the most valuable football Plaque us presented to the most valuable baseball player chosen by hus teammates The Martha Hallugan Cup us presented each year to the sopho more gurl elected by the sophomore class, who best luves up to the standards set by Martha Hallugan It was first presented to the school un the year of 1943 by the sophomores un lovung memorv of theur classmate The Helen Brudgers Memorual Cup was guxen to the school bv the Cvurls Hu Y of 1935 36 Thus was guven un lowung memory of Helen Brudgers and IS presented each year to the senuor gurl who most nearly measures up to the udeal exemplufued by her lufe The oe Schraeder Memorual Cup us presented each year to the unost outstandung senuor boy by the Boys Hu Y Thus person us elected by the under classmen and hus name us engraved upon the cup The Class of 46 leaves all thus behund and theur happy memorucs to the class whuch comes after us Q t ' I K . , . .
