“
Sometimes, not often enough, we reflect upon the good things, and those thoughts always center around those we love, and I think about those people who mean so much to me and for so many years have made me so very happy and I count the times I have forgotten to say, thank you and just how much I love them. from the song Sometimes by Felice and Henry Mancini To a man who is and will always be in the hearts of those students whom he taught as well as those who knew him. He was well liked by all of the students and many were sad to see him leave this school. We the students of NEHS dedicate the 1973 “TIGER to Mr. Joe Bohlman, friend and teacher. It seems that school will never seem right without their faces and voices. Somehow, though, when fall comes and school has started again, it really hasn't changed that much and every- thing goes as normal even without them. Not only are the empty classrooms filled, but new activities and friends fill the gaps the old ones left. 6 Juniors Prepare for the Future FRONT ROW: LEFT TO RIGHT: L. Lien, B. Olson, L. Through the year, the students had many chances to express their feelings and emotions. Whether it was at a basketball game or an assembly program or in class or even walking down the hall. In some way or another feelings were expressed. Maybe they weren't all happy feelings, but even if they were feelings of sadness or anger, school seemed to be a good place to express them. At basket- ball games feelings of joy and excitement were expressed. Emo- tions were shown too when something went wrong. Schools are for learning and when students learn how to express their feelings and emotions a lot has been accomplished. 15 Conference Champs FRONT ROW, LEFT TO RIGHT: E. Striebel, K. Belland, D. Many hard hours were spent practicing so the actors could go on stage and stumble through their lines. Last minute nervous- ness plagued the Juniors but with the help of Mr. Wobig, their play was very successful. The Junior Class of 1972- 1973 presented the play Deadly Earnest in the fall of 1972. Under the promising direction of Mr. Wobig the Juniors were constantly prac- ticing. Study halls were filled with Juniors wanting help with their lines. Although there was fun and excitement they still worked hard and it all paid off with a very successful and entertain- ing play. FRONT ROW, LEFT TO RIGHT: P. Clark, C. Jalbert, K. Schulz, J. Ridgeway 24 Is A Snowball Down School is more than just nine months of study. It's hopes and expectations. It's striving for goals and not always reaching them. It's build-ups and let-downs. It's study halls, extra-curricular activities, and traffic jams in the halls. It's teachers, friends, and enemies. But mostly, it's growing up, learning to live, and preparing to enter the world. We're the next genera- tion. Before long the world will be in our hands and what we learn in school will help make us ready to do a good job. 25 State Hopes Terminated at District E The Tigers finished their season with a 20-5 record, one of the best ever. The year's highlights were taking first place at the Mohall Invitation- al Tournament and being rated among the top ten in the state each week. The Tigers finished in seventh position in the poll. With hard work and determination, they managed to end the season with a 7-14 record. Mr. Koppinger and the Tiger fans were proud of the team and the spirit was great at all the games. Now, as the time draws nearer and nearer that we, the senior class of 1973, will be leaving NEHS, we think back on these last years. The friends we've made, the things we've done, the good times and the bad all become more im- portant than ever before. We know that as we go our separate ways, we'll be growing apart. Although in a few years, we may have lost touch with many of our friends, they'll never be forgotten. The experiences we've shared and the things we've done will remain a part of us forever. 37 FRONT ROW, LEFT TO RIGHT: W. Miller, M.. Roller. SECOND ROW: B. Jung, G. Stagl. THIRD ROW: W. Doe, M.
