CLASS HISTORY Time is continuely moving forward. It never stops or turns back but iust for the sake of memories, let's turn the clock of time back to the fall of 1959 as the New England Public School bell rang to toll, 22 voung green Freshman walked unassuredly into their Home Room. They were as follows: President, Gary Jung; Vice President, Ray Jorstad; Secretary-Treasurer, Wynette Walch; Student Council, Larrv Nelson. Other members of our class include Juel Bautz, Ronald Bock, Arlene Bohlman, Sharon Cummins, Anita Haagenstad, Donna Hares, LeRoy Kasberg, Carol Lien, Georgeann Magelky, Claudia Rustan, Pamula Rustan, Nancy Raffertv, Betty Schwartz, Darlvs Thiel- man, Loretta Walch, Eilene Wilhelm, Morris Nelson, and LaVern Zenker. Our Advisor was Miss Huber. On September 14, 1959, 22 of us marched down main street of New England in the most hillarious costumes and shouting, We are stupid Green Freshman. Time marched on and so did we. We began the sophmore year by gaining three new classmates-Robert Day, Renee Tesdahl, and Art Hayden. Our Advisor was Mr. Gerth. Still time went on and we lost Bob Day during the year. Gur Junior year was filled with excitement. We gained two new Classmates- Ernie Schultz and Bob Rettinger, and lost Loretta Walch and Renee Tesdahl. The entire class worked hard to put on our Junior Class Play which was a dramatic court trial called The Night of January 16. At both perform- ances on November 12, the jury was picked from the audience acquiting the defendant. The biggest project of our Junior year was the Junior-Senior Prom, for which we chose the theme Roman Holidays and the date was May 11. Our last year at New England was a very busy one. We lost one member of our class, Sharon Cummins, which gave our class the number of 24. Our Advisor was Mr. Broton. On November 22, 1963, our class presented the dramatic comedy, Man Overboard. On May 2, 1964, the Junior Class hon- ored us with the Prom and Prom Banquet with the theme Oriental Gardens. Our skip days. May 14-17, were spent enjoying the Black Hills of South Da- kota. May 20, the Class presented its Class Night. Baccalaureate was May 24. Graduation, the day looked forward to by all, was May 27. Our Class Motto was This Far and Farther. The Class Colors were Aqua and White. The Class Flower was the Black Orchid. Yes, time must go on and so must we. What we will be in the years to come only the future can tell, but what we were in the past none can forget. 10 The class of 1964 bids you Good-By.
