Seven of them went twelve years at NEHS , and are now seniors. They are Gilbert Anderson, Janice Hanson, Jereine Larson, Georgine Neuhaus, Myrna Wallner, and Darleen Erickson. On September 4, 1955, twenty-six timid Freshman, namely; Gilbert Anderson, Dorothy Austin, Mary Ann Dukart, Darleen Erickson, LeRoy Farber, Janice Hanson, Marjorie Hellekson, Vivian Hewson, LaVonne Jalbert, Rita Johnson, Douglas Jung, James Kirschman, Jereine Larson, Linda Lien, Virgil Mayer, Leon Nesja, Georgine Neuhaus, Barbara Rustad, Lewellyn Rustan, Sharon Sorenson, Robert Stenmoen, Ronald Strommen, Myrna Wallner, Eugene Wilhelm, and Lucille Zenker, entered the vast halls of NEHS. Seventeen days later, the halls were filled with silly looking creatures kneeling and asking forgiveness for being stu- pid, green Frehhman. That night the Sophomores honored us with a party. We in return presented them with a party on Halloween Eve, October 30. In the Spring of 1956, the music department sponsored a variety show. Several members of our class took part. In our Sophomore year, we had a chance to avenge our Fresh- man year by making the Green Freshman of that year, kneeling and telling how sorry they were for being stupid green freshman. Advancing into the Junior year, we lost two class members; Ludwig Dukart, and Virgil Mayer, and we gained two; Jeannie Jung and Leon Stang. Two of the highlights of the year were the Class Play entitled Rest Assured , and the Junior-Senior Banquet and Prom. We worked in Outer Space for one week preparing for the big night, May 9th. At which we were to honor the seniors with our theme, Outer Space . We went into the home stretch with twenty-four seniors as we had lost Eugene Wilhelm and LaVonne Jalbert, Miss Jalbert later became the bride of Thornton Field. Our class had the privilege of issuing our biannual year- book. We worked very hard to make it a success We Seniors boast of being the first class to go the com- plete four years in the new school. Darleen Erickson Mary Ann Dukart Dorothy Austin 20 Our senior class of 59, Is just a small part of American design. It is made up of twenty-four. Only two less than our freshman score. Dorothy Austin, our class president Is Just the gal to give encouragement. Jereine Larsen, better known as Pete, For obedience to the teachers, she can't be beat. Gilbert Anderson, a real quiet guy, He will make his way without telling a lie. Margie's personality is great, Happiness is bound to be her fate. Sharon Sorenson, a cute little dish, To her, a husband we do wish. Lewellyn Rustan jumps and jives, When in his car, that's how he drives. Janice Hanson, the brain of our class, Is a firing, red-headed lass. Mary Ann Dukart, a teacher to be, Has a very sweet personality. Leon Nesja, is a good-looking lad. When he's around you're never sad. Here's another Leon, his last name is Stang, From his jokes, everyone gets quite a bang. Barbara Rustad lives out on the hill, She dates a fellow steady, who's name is Phil. Bobby Stenmoen, a crazy kid, You couldn't list all the things he did. Linda Lien, is so little and sweet, For her, new people are easy to meet. Douglas Jung does quite well as a singer, But at basketball, he's a real hum-dinger. Georgine Xeuhaus, small and quiet is she. But she'll find the door to opportunity. Rita's going into the Womens Air Corps, The countries safety is what she's working for. One of our classmates, is Ronald Kent, Some girls seem to think he was heaven-sent. Darleen is going to be a secretary, As business men say they're necessary. Jeannie Jung doesn't have to stay on a diet. With candy and pop, she can just say, I'll buy it. James Kirschman likes study halls quiet, But with others around its usually a riot. LeRoy is a boy who likes to drive cars. We believe he would even be glad to travel to Mars. Lucille Zenker, last in line. Keeps her marks high and fine. Myrna and Viv, the poet pair. Would have written more, but didn't dare. Vivian Hewson Myrna Wallner Seated (L. to R.) Manager: Roger Ruggles, Charles Shu- maker, Eugene Wilhelm, James Nielson, Robert Stenmoen, Douglas Jung.
