Nineteen forty-eight was a big year for this world. Harry S. Tru- man, the piano-playing senator from Missouri, was elected President of the United States of America and the Class of '52 started their fresh- men year at New England High School. The class consisted of: Bruce Carlson, Janice Billson, Eunice Try— znka, Douglas Stenmoen, Lawrence Stafford, LeRoy Schwartz, Marion Red- lin, Vernon Paulson, Charles Olson, Carol Olson, Ernest Multhaup, Eu- gene Mesling, Doris Jones, Fern Johnson, Ervin Hjemvik, Jean Hanson, Jimmy Gilbert, Richard Gatzke, Margaret Erickson, John Dubisar,Jr., Io- la Dubisar, Roberta Colgrove, Verna Bohlman, Charles Bender, Jimmy Ballweber, and Caroline Ballweber. At the beginning of the second semester Theone Stark was added to our class and we lost Bruce Carlson and Janice Billson. 13
