FOREWORD The class of January, 1946, is the first class to graduate into a World of peace since the out- break of World War II. We lived through a War which was not of our making, though it became our responsibility. We prefer the way of peaceg we cherish our priceless heritage of freedom and hold dear the blessings of liberty. We know that in America freedom and liberty have reached their highest plane, and we pro- pose to preserve the principles which made them possible. We dedicate ourselves to the preservation of the American ideal of democracy through which mankind has achieved his greatest dig- nity. We shall devote our energies and abilities to the end that man may live in peace, and that never again shall such sacrifices as we have witnessed be necessary for the preservation of our nation. ,FQ ll' 4:2 X O if lllll lll

OUR TOWN In our years in school, we have tried to become better citizens for tomorrow. As Our Town has grown and advanced since the time when our forefathers settled here, so must we advance as citizens. Now has come the time for us to take our place in Our Town and in our nation, to put our young ideas into practice and to try to make this a better place in which to live. W it 41 XX ,dai -- 4 W J
