Get a job! Many students realized this and found employment in nu- merous places. Vocational programs assisted seniors in finding several types of jobs during school hours, and others found work on their own during weekends and after school. Whether it was sacking groceries at a local grocery or taking a patient's pulse at the hospital, experience was gained that will aid the students of C.H.S. in their lives ahead. They are stored in a portion Of your mind that is unerasable Even if they seem to seep away After the years. You've experienced a special something Like autumn, His memories are brilliant colors But they soon fade to black and white. They are like an old photograph. They will haunt you Til you grow old and die But you can never forget . . . Autumn memories. Tammy Brinson - 12 Becky Trieshman -- 12 l mm1frnmmMwwaa2vym,w5 :: Speak Gently Speak gently, it is better by far To rule by love than fear, Speak gently: let no harsh words mar The good we may do here. Speak gently, kindly to the poor Let no harsh tones be heard, They have enough they must endure Without an unkind word. Speak gently to the erring knowg They must have toiled in vain, Perhaps unkindness made them so, Oh win them back again. Speak gently to the little child, Its love be sure to gain. Teach it in accents soft and mild It may not long remain. Speak gently to the graduating one, Make his memories kind at heart The sands of life are partly run, Let him in peace from school depart. Speak gently, 'tis a little thing, Dropped in the heart's deep wellg The good, the joy that it may bring Eternity shall tell. Brenda Bennett - 11
