A., Ball State University The New Castle Community School Corporation continues to strive for superior curriculum and facilities un- der the guidance of a progressive School Board and school administra- tion. Dr. Donald G. Turchan com- pleted his seoond year as superin- tendent, and Dr. Kenneth M. Book joined the school system last july as assistant superintendent. Construction of two new ele- mentary schools and completion of plans for a new junior high are evi- dence ofthe School Board and school administration at work. Better preparing students for fu- ture college and vocational plans, flexible scheduling, in its second year at CHS, operated efficiently. A major change in administration occurred after Mr. james L. Pugh re- signed last spring to accept the po- sition of principal at Munster. Mr. William E. Lehr, former assistant prin- cipal, was appointed principal. The positions of assistant principal and administrative assistant in charge of attendance were filled by former counselors Mr. Langan Hay and Mr. Randall Lawson.
