When the Asian flu bug hit New Castle last November, the line at the attendance office often stretched half way down the hall. This spring, however, the line shrank to almost nothing when Mr. Redman promised a half day off on the day when we reached perfect attendance. School spirit was always boosted by the colorful posters in the main hall which were prepared each week by the Morale Committee. They gave us such slogans as Fight With White, Stomp Those Spartans, Roast Those Hot Dogs, and Cage Those Lions. I2 Vl' LE Of Honor, Tradition Fill Our Hall Synchronizing our watches with the six clocks in the building was difficult, and they often didn't coincide with the bells. Myron Riley, custodian, frequently had to adjust them. Each week the showcase had a new look, and its attractive decorations, varying from copper enameled jewelry ond speech awards to Retail Selling projects were eye-catching. Between class chats took place each day near the WYSN door, a favorite meeting place of upperclassmen- Classes, friends, and plans for after-school were always discussed here. K 5 g
