Balancing a budget is extremely important to these club treasurers who listen intently to Mrs. Bishop as she explains their duties at the Leadership Course sponsored bv the Student Council. Bright and colorful campaign posters draw the at- tention of lane Brock while Arnold Dudley shows Martha Wilt the correct procedure of voting. - , QQ fir ' 'X '. K I El Q M g i ' , , l Q 4 -'l ,, 'i 5 Building character and sportsman- ship within our school is an impor- tant factor in the development of good citizens and future leaders. School spirit which we built this year within our halls radiated into our community, and both adults and stu- dents showed remarkable sports- manship at the tourneys. We were proud Trojans in our classes and in our town. The bulletin boards and the show case took on new meaning as they were decorated with samples of class work and var- ious student achievements. Coach Lawson led us all to greater dreams with his rousing pep talks and cheerful philosophy. All these things combined to make our school stand above all others in sportsmanship and fair play.

Printing skills don't come easy, as Paul Hardwick and Herb Zachary know, but they use their training to print necessary school materials, Giving up her study hall hour to be of service to Mrs. Ingram in the attendance office, Melinda Cald- well busily records the absentees. Watching the birdie fly back and forth across the net in a fast moving games of badminton is Elaine Neal, girls' gym assistant. Everyone has worked together to bring school spirit to an all-time high this year, but it includes much more than actions in the field of sports. School spirit is shown each day when a boy takes time from his study hall to run a movie projector for a class, when a student stops a minute in the hall to pick up a fellow classmates coat that has fallen, or when a stu- dent throws his candy bar wrapper in the special green trash can pro- vided for this use. Led by an extremely active Student Council, the student body has shown its enthusiasm by backing every school activity and by displaying its loyalty through effective posters and signs which plastered our halls. These students symbolize the mean- ing behind the name TROlAN. hr.
