Stately white pillars accented by magnolia blos- soms and pale blue lights encircled the dance floor as 225 couples glided to the music of Bobby Wertz and his nine piece orchestra on May 13 in the National Guard Armory. Hues of pink and green gave a southern spring- time atmosphere to the dance while sparkle brightened the tables and programs. Queen Susan Fragrant magnolia cologne scented the ballroom as Miss Susan Ann Baker was chosen to reign as queen of the 1955 Prom. Junior Class President David Paul crowned the queen of the Magnolia Cotillion in a southern plantation setting. Queen Susan was presented with a spray of white gardenias while her attendants and their escorts gathered around her. Attendants were Carolyn Mae Hall, Janet McKechnie, Rose- mary Hurst, and Sylvia Cross. QUEEN SUSAN BAKER

A crown of while carna ions and a spray of red carnations are presented to Harvest Hop Queen Carol Rea by Mark Weadick as Nancy Band and Bill Adams smile in approval. Dancing to the music of Gar- wood Wells, couples who at- tended Harvest Hop on No- vember 26 watched Mayor Paul McCormack crown Carol Rea queen of the homecoming dance with a lovely bandeau of white carnations. Queen Carol and her escort, Bill Adams, were presented with many lovely gifts which were contributed by local mer- chants. The queen's attendants were Nancy Bond, Caroline Sweigart, Cheryl VanBuskirk, Anne Bouslog, Hilda Hay, Vic- ki Dyer, and Ann Zimmerman. Fall decorations of sand, brown, and flame emphasized the harvest theme for the Thanksgiving dance and the words Harvest Hop rotated above the dancers. High School Royalty Leads Gerald Pope, Connie Clark, Ronnie DeCoursey, Joyce Hall, Wayne Parker, and Judy Day gather around to see Mike Thalls crown Sara Hines queen of Hearts Hcp. Dancing Hearts was the theme for the annual Hearts Hop Dance sponsored by Beta Tri-Hi-Y on February l8. Miss Sara Hines reigned as queen of the dance and was crowned by her escort, Mike Thalls. Queen Sara's attendants were Connie Clark, Judy Day, Joyce Henry, Sally Birch, Joyce Gustin, Joyce Hall, and Margie Turner. The girl ask boy dance was decorated in the tradition- al colors of red and white transrorming the gymnasium into a ballroom. An arrow and a heart were suspended in the entrance while at the opposite end of the dance floor were two large red hearts centered on a white background above Jimmy Feltis' Orchestra.
