Queen Susan Fragrant magnolia cologne scented the ballroom as Miss Susan Ann Baker was chosen to reign as queen of the 1955 Prom. Junior Class President David Paul crowned the queen of the Magnolia Cotillion in a southern plantation setting. Queen Susan was presented with a spray of white gardenias while her attendants and their escorts gathered around her. Stately white pillars accented by magnolia blos- soms and pale blue lights encircled the dance floor as 225 couples glided to the music of Bobby Wertz and his nine piece orchestra on May 13 in the National Guard Armory. Hues of pink and green gave a southern spring- time atmosphere to the dance while sparkle brightened the tables and programs.
