Varying classes stimulated our minds as we worked together with our teachers and classmates. Students were eager to cooperate in a widely varied curriculum with classes designed to fit the needs of everyone. These classes taught us the need of cooperation to make any proiect a success. ln a musical quartet, one sour note could ruin a performance, the wrong combinations of chemicals could cause an explosion, or the wrong ingredients could ruin a cake. It took hours behind the scenes to design the sets, collect the costumes, and learn all the lines for the successful class play. Committees worked industriously to plan dances, banquets, and to sell the PHOENIX and i954 ROSENNIAL. In each group there was a leader who made the plans but it took many other followers Eight to carry the work to completion. Cooper- ation in this way made NHS classwork and activities outstanding and taught us we must always work together to be successful.

Encouraging the team all the way were the Macerettes w o kept up the spirit of the fans. Posters scattered throughout the halls, skits at pep sessions, music each morning before classes, and pep rallies led by the cheerleaders and Stinkers helped make sportsmanship better than ever this year. Encouraged by Mr. Redman and the Student Council, the iunior and senior officers planned activities to show the team we were behind them win or lose. Even though we didn't win the final game of the sectional we lost victoriously when we received an A rating for sportsmanship.
