Roche, The Class of 1953 began the school year with ап even number, twenty-nine boys and twenty-nine girls. The Sponsors chosen to lead these fifty-eight talented and studious boys and girls were Barbara Jo Hill, Francis Ernst, and Harry Stoneburner. Since the school year started so late, our activities began late too, but we did have a sleigh ride early in December. During the second semester many more successful things меге planned. Our class was well represented in scholastic achievements as many were on the honor roll, and we also иеге at the front in sports. Dick Jones, Bob Shively, Jim Szuanda, and Richard Goraczewski were on the basketball team. Тһе managers of the team were Bob Clapp and Deve Pihl. Also, Julie McPherson and Bob Shively were selected to lead the fans in cheering. Some of us took honors in music -- Jack Shaw and Paul Spriggs were asked to olay over the W. H. 0. T. Broadcasting Station for the St. Joseph Council of the P.T.A. Christmas program. Szalay When the doors of New Carlisle opened in October this year, eishty-eisht green, bright, smiling, young freshman came over the threshold to begin the haopiest four years of their lives. At the first meeting of the class they elected Don Tolmen, President; Donald Coddens, Vice President; Dick Lewis, Sec- retary; Joe Garrage, Treasure; Walt Grzeszezyk and Sally Riffel, Student Council Members. Leon Greenwalt and Ruth Crouch led the class through their year!s activities.

Howard Mansfield, President; Jim Kring, Vice President; Jane Ann Luzadder, Sec- retary; George Smith, JUNIOR CLASS The sixty-six members of the class of 1952 elected Howard Mansfield to lead them through the years!s ас- tivities. The first venture of the season to make money to finance the annual Jun- ior-Senior Prom was the sale of Plastic Rayon Towels; after this, cametne annual magazine sale drive. Іп both of the ventures the Juniors were very success- ful. In February the class presented their Junior Play under the direction of Mr. Ernst.
