CLASS POEM Now that our high school work is ended, and our books are laid aside, And our teachers have graded our papers, and all harsh words have died, We shall rest, for truly we've earned it, rest for an hour or two, 17311 the world outside shall call us and tell us what to do. There are those who have made good in high school: they «hall find a place to abide; | They will profit by lessons they have learned here, by leaders they shall sit side by side; | They will find new fields of labor: they will heed their country's call; They will succeed in their chosen profession; and never complain at all. And all the world shall praise them, and none shall try to blame; For they will work for the good of humanity, and not for the joy of fame. And each shall remember when he's aged, and unable to work anymore, The lessons he learned here in high TM have repaid him o'er and o'er, —

ud r SPRING Spring is the time for all green and growing things, resh and vérdant in their newness to life. What more fit- ing, then thai the Freshies, in this green time of hein. a ife, should be compared to the spring of the year? We sx, elt the first pull of the plow and cultivator in the (¿Mv ay pring of the year, when we organized and elected our class 2 am fficers, Norma Gay, President; Bill Smith, Vice-president; f متا laine Geabler, treasurer; and Joe Kopinski, Secretary: We CH 5 hose a flower and our class colors. These were: green and” Y hite, and our flower, the Camilia, As our sponsors, Mrs. arding and Mr, Marvel, proved to be real friends to us a n the days when we were so green. We surprised the Sen- AA ors, somewhat by winning the Red Cross Pennant by our gen- ےچ A rosity in a class consisting of sixty-two students. T ER SUMMER But the March winds and April showers brought on the ) armer hues of summer and an abundance of May flowers. Ing ur Second year, our powers of self-possession developing „ZN, e did not hesitate to claim a part as true representatives CON vif New Carlisle High School. We felt much wiser and so [= uch more grown up. However, a few were left by the V y ہے reen wayside of the spring. This year we had Mrs.Tregor Gy nd Mr. Eslinger as our sponsors and elected Lewie Mounts, 4 L Ia our president; Gene Moore, Vice-president: Secretary, ne jetty Miner; and. our Treasurer, Bill Troxell.We retained as di ur class motto: God first,others second, myself last . e mustn't forget to mention that Elaine Geabler was e- ected to preside as queen at the Halloween Festival during , . , .. ur Sophomore year, FALL Fall with its brilliant foliage and fruit ushers in the iar vest. So we, as juniors began to reap the results of ur first two years. is was a hard year for us but was K 3 made easier by our nearest kin, the seniors, who were very REN sonsiderate and friendly. We started a hard year of study ری ind kept our same class color and flower, but had a EE = j y so get Miss Sharpe and Mr. Pfieffer as our sponsors. à Poi y Especially for those who held a leading role in our play ES 'BROTHERGOOSE . The play will long be remembered by the ye yutstanding acting of Norma Gay, as the loveiy .
