GEORGE KRAUSS Department Head I can't impress upon you enough . . . The Music Department offers instruction in music appreciation, choral work, orchestra, and band. In music appreciation class, students develop a solid appreciation of music combined with the fundamental elements of music. The choral work includes an acquaintance with fine music through listening. The orchestra and band are open to all students and offer diverse types ot selections. Special activities of the Music Department include the A Cappella Choir and the Stage Band. All organizations of the department participate in assembly programs, broadcasts, and concerts. A course in a foreign language at New Brunswick High School teaches more than the fundamentals of speaking and writing the language. It teaches the customs, feelings, and characteristics of the people. In today's troubled world, a basic knowledge of the people in other countries is vital to cooperation and friendship between nations. DONALD KAHRMANN Department Head 1fHi-,tt The courses which are offered by the Art Department include acquaintance with all phases of art and experi- mentation with various media. The students are instructed in the basics of the field and are encouraged to develop their own talent, creativity, and self-expression. The Art Department participates in school proiects such as illustrating the school publications and preparing decorations for social functions.
