Instead, an upright and alert character must also be present in a sound body to insure success in today's world. The New Brunswick High School Physical Education Department hopes to build perceptive and intelligent minds as well as vigorous, well-disciplined bodies. The aim of this department is to develop, through health and safety classes, an understanding of proper social behavior and a sense of civic responsibility. As the Physical Education Department continues to strengthen our bodies, it, likewise, strives to foster not only a whole- some, competitive spirit but also socially accepted attitudes of behavior. Active participation in competitive sports among classes has instilled in us a sense of good sports- manship. This spirit of fair play will help us to get along with people in our adult life.
