In Dedication :aaa nicorn Band a to the M , ,. , X U ii. f X ii 'i ,-ff' To have a top-notch band, which the student body and the entire community as well are genuinely proud of, is an accomplishment for any person, and that is exactly what Band Director Lee Kohlenberg has attained in his well-known Unicorn Band. Along with performing in clever and unique marching drills during halftime activities at all of the football games, this industrious group of students traveled to Austin in Oc- tober for the Annual University of Texas Band Day, only to acquire first place and gain state-wide fame as wlihe Best High School Band in the Statef, In commemoration of the bandis 25th An- niversary, the senior members were presented with jackets signifying white lyres framed 'ry scroll stitch reading t'25th Anniversaryf, For the same purpose, Mr. Kohlenberg pre- sented the majorettes with small silver batons md chains at the annual Band Festival. As a tribute to Mr. Kohlenberg, who lssisted in the instigation of the first band, mtl who also so willingly and unselfishly has ,erved the band. the Senior High P.T.A. pre- rented to him a silver baton, as well as new lags for the entire band.
