In September, 1962, eighteen green freshmen entered the high school of New Bloomfield. Mrs. Tom Turner was the sponsor of this wild group. The next year found thirteen serving New Bloomfield as silly sophomores. This class had Miss Margie Schmerbach as their sponsor. Smith vs. Smith was the title of the play, a cast of ten presented as a junior project. Mr. Pat McNeely was director of the play and class sponsor also. Mr. McNeely was also the faculty advisor of Planned Progress. A panel of five, assisted by the entire class, won third place in the Missouri Power and Light sponsored contest. 1966, the year of graduation, has fast approached, and school is over! This has been a mem- orable and busy year for all eight seniors. Some of the activities were: Karen Baysinger and David Dozier represented the class as King and Queen Candidates in the annual Harvest Festival; Paula Mattern and Karen Baysinger were cheerleaders for the 1965-1966 basketball season; Martha Maddox, Paula Mattern, and Margaret Taylor represented the class at the 1966 Inter-state Scholastic Meet; Martha Maddox and Margaret Taylor were the co-editors of the new school news- paper, the Wildcat Growl; Margaret Taylor received a Curators' Scholarship to the University of Missouri; Martha Maddox received a Curators' Award to the University of Missouri; the senior play, Moon Shy, was presented by a cast of ten; the Beaumonts played for a dance follow- ing the play; Hobo Day found the seniors looking like tramps, but Dress-up Day redeemed the image; Junior-Senior Day was spent in St. Louis; Senior Day was spent at the Lake of the Ozarks. There were many more enjoyable times, and the seniors leave New Bloomfield High School hoping that all other classes will learn as much, have as much fun, and have such nice memories. 10 KAREN BAYSINGER Cheerleader ............................... 4 Class President ........................... 4 Class Vice-President ................ 3 Chorus Clinic ............................. 2 Chorus ........................... 1, 2, 3, 4 Harvest Festival Queen Candidate........... 4 District Music Contest .................. 3 Basketball............................. 3 Annual Staff .............................. 4 Class Play................................ 3, 4 Planned Progress .......................... 3 Pep Squad .......................... 1 2, 3 I'm not really crazy, I just act that way to entertain my friends.
