Leaving after 33 years of teaching, which include 15 years at New Bloomfield High School, 15 years at Fulton High School, 2 years at Sedalia, and 1 year at Cave Rural School, it is with gratitude and admiration that we dedicate our annual to her. CLASS 1 1101 11 CCA’ Last night, as I sat thinking of the class reunions we hope to enjoy together in the future, I found myself imagining the result if, at some given date, say ten years from now, every member of the class should be too busy to attend the reunion. That would, of course, be rather discour- aging to the chairman of the committee, unless she, also, were too busy to attend. But, I thought, how interesting if on the morning of the reunion, each person who would not be able to attend would send a telegram stating his occupation and information about himself. I be- came so engrossed in the idea that I even pictured to myself the exact wording of the telegrams the various people would send. These are some of the occupations that my classmates engaged in: Callie Burnett is a professional actress on Broadway. She is in her 10th play with Rock Hudson as her leading man. Sally Brockman is now a social worker and travels all over the world. Jess Cave is running a still for his own use. Betty Gilmore is married to her secret love and is about to have her first child. Barbara Humphreys is operating her own beauty salon and is married to a college graduate. Carolyn Jenkins is now married to Roger. They own a little green house in the country. Larry Martin is now the champion heavyweight wrestler. Donnie Miller is now a professor of English at a well-known college in New York. Leroy Miller has skipped the country with a million dollars which he has embezzled from the bank. Sandy McClure is a surf board instrcutor in Florida. She is married and is rearing two children. Charles Nagel is now playing professional basketball for the Globetrotters. Gloria Reynolds is a dance instructor for Arthur Murray. Johnny Siegel is a pitcher for the New York Yankees and makes $12,000 a year. Rhoda Smith is living in Hawaii, where she is a hula dancer. David Thomas has taken over his father's feed store and is raising cats for a hobby. Kenny Thomas is a general in the U. S. Army. Mary Jo Underwood is married to Ronnie Moore and lives in a trailer in California, next to the beach. Lewis Verner is a lieutenant in the Paratroopers and is planning a final jump off the Brooklyn Bridge. Ralph Wade is married to Linda and racing red sports cars at Daytona Beach. Bruce Wilson is training cats, (in a circus). Gary Wilson is successfully drag-racing at Bonneville Flats (against Chevys only). 68 CLASS WILL My classmates, I have called you together here as a solemn duty, that you, the heirs and assigns of my respected client, the class will of 1962, will and testament, which, as her legal advisor, I drew, as directed by her, immediately prior to her passing from our presence. Because of this, if any slight discrepencies or apparent injustice or partiality should appear to you in the distribution of her effects, we trust you will pardon it and realize it is caused, not by exhaustion of her brain, never over-robust. Carolyn Burnett--wills her regular attendance in school to Sandy Jenkins. Rhoda Smith--wills her jealous loving heart to Susan Bryan. David Thomas--wills his careful driving ability to Ronnie Craighead. Jess Cave--wills his hard working ability to Linda Miller. Gary Wilson--wills nothing to nobody cause I ain't got nothing. Mary Jo Underwood--wills her ability to get a man and keep him to Bonnie Jo Finley. (You will make it someday. ) Carolyn Jenkins--wills her shorthand ability to Louise Robinson (Keep trying, Louise). Leroy Miller--wills his ability to get what he starts after to his Cousin Jerry. Bruce Wilson--wills his ability to flirt with every girl to Wayne Blair. (Treat them nice, Wayne. ) Kenneth Thomas--wills his drawing ability to Darrell Schermerhorn. Ralph Wade—leaves to go (Dear) hunting for good. Betty Gilmore--wills my hidden knowledge to anyone who can find it. Sandy McClure--wills her ability not to get along with the opposite sex, to any poor fool who wants it. Johnny Siegel--wills his ability to control his temper to Edd Wassman. Larry Martin--wills his quietness to Peggy Finley. Sally Brockman—wills her dancing ability to Mary Duello. Charles Nagel--wills his ability to keep his nose out of other people's romances to Linda Criswell. Lewis Verner—after two years in this institution 1 no longer have a mind to will. r Barbara Humphreys--wills her ability to get along with everyone to Jean Siegel. Donnie Miller--wills his ability to act his age at all times to Shirley Bedsworth. Gloria Reynolds--wills her quiet, pleasing way to Marily Brooks. Lastly, we, the Class of 1962, will the New Bloomfield High School the pleasant memories of our past. 69 THE GREAT CENTRAL LI MItEIt CO.
