LO.UIS Class History On September 4, 1945, twenty innocent children were admitted to the New Bloomfield Schools for a twelve year term for the simple crime of being of age to go to school. Of this twenty, only seven were able to endure their sentence. They are: Jane Ann Yows, Judy Murphy, Sonja Craighead, Gale Nichols, Dale Nichols, Billy Reynolds and Carol Lawson. In March of that year, Billy Norman joined our group to complete his twelve years here also. Others who started with us were: Robert Morris, Henrietta Coleman, Carolyn Strickland, Shirley Hartman, Gene David Spencer, Gary Burkett, Billy Sullins, Harold Dean Jackson, Gary Lynn Smith, Buddy Leon Chiles, Kenneth Martin, Catherine Dooling and Dickie Coosten. Our teachers during the eight year period were: Miss Lula Moore (Mrs. Bob Altus), Miss Ophelia Brewer (Mrs. James Foster), Mrs. Claire Lewis, Mr. Dale Dean and Mrs. Arlee Vaught. During the eight years we gained Frances Jeffrey, Bobby Campbell, Walter and Wallace Davis, James Williams, Dale Baysinger, Robert Cundiff, Mary Boyer, Mary Zumalt, Dorothy Rackers, Billy Gray, Paul Gray, Uulo Kasenurm, Carolyn Branson, Jimmy McDonald, Rose Mary Taggart, Sid Helle and Bonnie Morrow. There were seventeen who graduated with us from the eighth grade. On August 31, 1953, we started our last four years at New Bloomfield School with thirty- one in the class. They were: Catherine Dooling, Dorothy Rackers, Rose Mary Taggart, Judy Murphy, Sonja Craighead, Dolores Meyer, Joan Siegel, Dixie Gray, Doris Rice, Mary Boyer, Billy Reynolds, Billy Sullins, Dale Nichols, Paul Gray, Gary Smith, Jerry Allen, Carolyn Strickland, Bonnie Morrow, Dorothy Vaught, Virginia Jones, Jackie Siegel, Carol Lawson, Barbara Beck, Sue Cave, Jane Yows, Lucille Fletcher, Billy Norman, Dale Baysinger, Gale Nichols, Forrest Gilmore and Sid Helle. Edith Carringer entered the class in October. In the four years we were sorry to lose several members of the group, but were happy to welcome Sandra Duer, Jimmy McDonald and John Scheperle. Several parties were held during the four years. The plays, The Cannibal Queen and Grandma's Best Years went over with a huge success. In our junior year, we were host to the senior class. We went to St. Louis and enjoyed seeing the zoo, airport and cinerama. In 1957 we were guests of the juniors. We went to St. Louis to the airport, Highlands and the ball game. Our senior day was spent at the Lake of the Ozarks. We are now finishing our twelve year sentence at New Bloomfield School. We have worked hard, but we are sure the teachers worked harder, and we thank them for their patience and efforts. Final enrollment in the class is twenty-seven. It includes: Dale Baysinger, Barbara Beck, Mary Ann Boyer, Sue Cave, Sonja Craighead, Catherine Dooling, Sandra Duer, Paul Gray, Virginia Jones, Carol Lawson, Dolores Meyer, Bonnie Morrow, Jimmy McDonald, Judy Murphy, Dale and Gale Nichols, Billy Norman, Dorothy Rackers, Billy Reynolds, Doris Rice, John Scheperle, Jackie and Joan Siegel, Billy Sullins, Rose Mary Taggart, Dorothy Vaught and Jane Ann Yows. Thanks again New Bloomfield School for our education and the many memories that we have received from you. 50 Class Prophecy It is the year of 1977 and a beautiful evening in October.
