America has a definite need to touch elbows and hearts with all the nations of mankind. There is no surer way to do that than through a knowledge of languages, for they encourage friend- ships around the world. New Bern High School does its part in realizing this need by offering instruction in Latin, French, and Spanish. Each course offers as much practical experience in the language as possible through the usage of records, special news- papers, word games, dramatic presentations, and songs. fTwo years of each language is required for credit, but each year is worth one unit.J
