English Club, '26: French Club, '29. Ruby never hurries, but when she finishes any- thing you may be sure it is O. K. It is seldom that you see a girl with an even temper and sweet disposition like that with which Ruby is blessed. She is to be found in the front ranks of all her classes. We predict success for Ruby in whatever she undertakes. BEnE MILDRED BETTINA HAMILTON Dependable should have been her middle name. English Club, '26: Latin Club, '2T: Dramatic Club, ':Z8: Jazz and Minuet , '28: Drama Guild, '29: Triangular Debate, '29: Business Manager of the Cub, '29: Member of Judicial Committee, '29: Member of Girls Hi-Y, '29, Mildred represents the Heart's Desire of him who wants a sweet, pretty little Miss. A girl who paints pictures and sews dresses equally as well, a girl who is a business manager without par, and a debater whose reasoning is logical and delivery forceful. All her classmates love the Mildred whom we can trust to make money for our plays, manage our annual, and best of all, to remain true to our friendships. That's M1LnREo DURWARD WORTH HANCOCK He'll find a way. The Forum, 'ZITI Science Club, '28, Senior Literary Society, '29, A jolly good pal, who always wears a smile- except when he's laughing. Durward is a good sport, and has added lots of life to our class. He believes you can get there just as quickly by taking your time. We shall miss him very much. In quality she is plus. Just as she is. suits us. English Club, '25, '26: Dramatic Club, '28, '29. Julia is one of our little girls, but her knowl- edge is not to be compared with her size, for great minds in small bodies are oft found. She has a Winsome personality and somewhere tucked away is a romantic tinge. Julia is a true friend in trouble as well as in fun, always ready for a good time. She is very serious at times, especially during tests. Loyalty, cheerfulness and pep makes her a lovable classmate. JL'I.Ii: SADIE MAE GASKINS Rare compound of quality. noble and true. With plenty of sense and good humor. too. Student Council, '27: English Club, 'ZTZ Pythagorean Club, '28: French Club, '29. The casual observer might call Sadie a very quiet, dignified girl, but to know her well is to change one's mind completely. Her friends know her to be full to the brim of life and fun. One would have to go far to find a truer and better friend than Sadie. All of us admire and respect her, and will always be glad to remember her as our classmate. Life for Len was always a thing to be con- sidered lightly. In fact he took such pains to enjoy his school life that it took us until his Senior year to find what a good actor he was, but once discovered, don't think he didn't shine in our Senior play! Being of a jolly and lovable nature she has won many friends in New Bern High. Although she has only been with us one year, she has been a welcome addition to the class of '29.
