Text from Pages 1 - 88 of the 1969 volume:

1960 gmw (mmgpg p Wggg , jjpi She has no special gift of anything, No voice to sing immortal or lays. And yet there’s music in her happy face... Her lovely presence is a song of praise. She has the hands of Martha, strong and fine, And yet the heart of Mary makes her see Where there is need, and so her tender hands Reach out to serve in loving ministry. 3 MR. RICHARD NOSTRANT Graduation is one of the great moments of one’s lifetime. It is the end of the many and long remembered pleasurable and exciting experiences of youth. It is the beginning of a new and more somber adult life. There is a saying — “Live as long as you may but the first twenty years arc the longest half of your life.” The opportunities for your life’s work have never been so many nor so varied but remember that most opportunities in life open up to those who work for them. Emerson said “If a man has good corn, or wood, or boards, or pigs to sell or can make better chairs or knives, crucibles, or church organs, than anybody else, you will find a broad, hard-beaten road to his house, though it be in the woods.” The lesson — “Whatever you do, do well” 4 Congratulations and the best to you in the future. But I will never forget my friends here in New Berlin, because now they are a part of my heart. Never forget me, my friends, I shall return. Love, 'fytcuiciA d nrtS-rkxfr' bW PoxUXHJijO % For the rest of my life I will always carry the wonderful memory of my teachers, classmates, friends and my stay here in New Berlin. To me, New Berlin represents the United States. In it I have seen a wonderful country with very nice people. If you ever come to my country, Chile, you will be welcomed as graceously as I have been here. Thanks for everything you’ve done for me. Love, 29 Our memory of Jim, will forever be one of warm friendship and a feeling of loss but at the same time a feeling of gladness for we know he must be happy where he is and as we cherish this book for its fond memories, may we always pause a moment and remember our classmate Jim Utter. 30 1969 31 34 35 JUNIOR CLASS Pres.-S. They laugh and smile as adults do, but not exactly the same. And if they ever have to cry, their tears are different too. They are more shiny, somehow, and more sad. As teachers we hold our breath, working, hoping and praying that everything will come out right. We hope they will all live happily and someday become responsible and rational citizens. Our vocations are a pleasure and we take this opportunity to thank all our youngsters for the privilege of working with them. 44 MRS. ALDRICH MR. ARMSTRONG MRS. AUBREY MRS. BROWNELL MR. BURTON MRS.
