Ill Ill III III Ill m in in ul Ill We present -the history of the class of 1940! XVhen we linish we won't have to tell you how remarkable we are -you'll say it for usl lt was a beautiful day of September l930 when we, as freshmen, banded together at the Vocational portals, How sophisticated thc upper classmen seemed and how formidable the unknown corridors! As for the Machine Shop Annex, we girls were sure it Could not stay up without the support of the Yo- cational male spectators. Shy, timid and embarrassed we Hfreshies personilied the word Hinferiority complex. 'l'he boys were quiet and backward tbelieve it or notl and the girls awed and practically terror stricken. My, how times have changed .... Our sophomore year was better. Vl'e had learned our corridors, our teachers. and the fact that the Machine Shop Annex could remain upstanding without human support. 'l'hen came our junior year. Now we were somewhere. As a class we elected Donald Sylvia. president, Irene Lajoie. vice-presiclentg Rosalina Mello. secretary and Alfred Messier, treasurer. Generating a little pep we held a few dances, attended a roller skating party, and sponsored a Junior Prom which proved to be a huge success. After our vacation we returned joyously as full pledged seniors, Now. we were the ones that had acquired worldly poise and Don juan technique, This was our last year. our best year. and we hit the anvil hard, Donald Sylvia was again chosen presidentg Irene Lajoie, vice-presidentg Bertha Przybyszewska. secretary. and Arthur llarrette, treasurer. Our social activities included several dances, a roller skating party and a hay-ride which was proclaimed delightful by all who attended. We are one of the proudest graduating classes when it comes to athletic victories. Our baseball team had the distinction of winning the Bristol County title. Our powerful football team is the county, city and state champion in its class, and our basketball team has done a Splendid piece of work in securing such a large number of victories. Graduation Day will be the happiest day of our four years at Vocational. Although we shall receive our diplomas with joy tand thankfulnessl we shall regret parting with the kindness of the faculty and the good times we have had. iff Nosul was gentle, friendly and kind, Vl'ho'd get to school on the nick of time. It wouldn't be unusual if he came in late, We still can't figure why he didn't get the gate. -we
