To the members of the Class of 1959. Many of you — perhaps most of you — don ' t know what the future holds in store for you. My own life has been full of surprises, and I suspect many of yours will be too. You have partially prepared for these surprises and the op- portunities they will present by completing your under- graduate education, and, I hope, having developed to the full the basic skills and abil- ities needed in your particu- lar field of endeavor. I would suggest that you not feel smug with your past ac- complishments — but that you continue to search for new horizons and that you continue to study to meet the challenge in the event you find them.
