The class officers and steering committee members are asked time and again to do a great deal of work for the Class of 789. Along with the Dean of Students they meet weekly to decide many issues pertaining to class activities. Their greatest responsibility ts to handle the financial accounts for each homeroom, They must keep track of and collect for dues, yearbooks, caps and gowns, banquets, proms, etc. Their help is invaluable to the Dean’s Office and to their individual homerooms. Following My Dream Since birth, | was raised to follow the Ameri- can dream, the dream of rising to the top — of being a government official. As | grew up, my interests changed and I no longer had the drive to follow this goal. In my junior year at N.B.H.S. I decided once again to travel the path I had been guided towards in my youth. | ran for the presidency of the Class of 1989. After millions of dollars spent and long hard debates | took office in September of 1988. | couldn't believe it, | was finally the leader of about 600 loyal, spirited and supportive follow- ers! The first occasion that the class participated in was the Senior Banquet in October. This proved to be a night to remember, and the class as a whole showed extreme maturity in the ways they presented themselves. In November a number of seniors took part in Spirit Week. There were various dress up days and this also proved to be spirit filled until the parade bon- fire night when an amazing 10 out of 600 loyal followers found time to make an appearance to march in the parade! If that’s not true school spirit | don’t know what is, As the rest of the year evolved the seniors began to take their roles as leaders seriously and showed a great deal of school spirit in the events that followed. The 1989 senior class is a group that has shared unforgettable moments and made friendships that will last a lifetime. I can hon- estly say that I’m extremely proud to be the class president of 1989. P.S. Special thanks to Ms. Bizzarro, Ms. Ca- ton, Mr. Hamlet, and Mrs. Plaud.
