Classmate Home Room 144, N. Beier. 14th February, 1970. Dear Friends, New Bedford High School is the largest school I have ever attended, and before I arrived I could not imagine how one could exist in such an array of faces without being ste- reotyped as a name or number. But it took me less than a day to discover just how possible it is. The crowded corridors seemed to be transformed from an anonymous mass into one long friendly Hi! I shall never forget my year as a Senior at N.B.H.S. and shall treasure memories of friendships I made as long as I live. As a Crimson Senior I witnessed my first high school American football game; experienced the spirit and emotion of Beat Durfee ; enjoyed cafeteria study periods; saw snow for the first time; was lucky enough to play on two champion school teams--- soccer and tennis; and accepted an unschedu- led vacation when the New Bedford teachers went on strike at the beginning of my American school career, From the principal and the Dean of Students to the new- est sophomore, I can only say a very sincere, Thank you, for all that everyone did to make my year, spent so far away from- home, such a happy and memorable one.
