HONOR® SOGIE FY To those unsung athletes of higher knowledge in our school, is dedicated the Honor So- ciety, the most exclusive of all our clubs. Membership is by invitation only and extended to students of high scholarship, good qualities of leadership, character and service. A student who acquires membership to this society has received one of the school’s highest honors. The requirements which must be met to be eligible for the Honor Society are: a three must attain an average of 90% for the freshman term; a five an average of 88% f or freshman and sophomore work; and a seven, an average of 85% for three years of study. Officers this term are: President, Ray Evans; Vice-President, Edith Rubin; Secretary, Maureen Schwartz; Treasurer, Louise Delmar. Miss Shennan is the faculty advisor. The following are the members of the 8 Class in the organization: Ira Goldstein, Con- stance Hindle, Albert Rosenthal, Vivian Chassey, Norma Pierce, Edith Rubin, Jacqueline Bougie, Elaine Cardoza, George Doyle, Milton Goldberg, Elizabeth Gunderson, Gertrude Hack- ing, Esther Hussey, June McAlpine, Rita Morris, Florence Nelson, Jack Shapiro, Dorothy Herlihy, Gloria Alcobia. SLUDENTS GOUNGIL The Student Council, is the student governing body of our school. It is the most demo- cratic organization in the school. It compiles the rules which the students must obey, and offers suggestions and ideas which would further the welfare of the school. Membership is obtained in this body by an election of each class for students to repre- sent them. Officers this term are: President, Irving Miller; Vice-President, Noah Minkin; Secre- tary, Elizabeth Gunderson; Treasurer, Winifred Brown. Faculty advisor is Miss Marion Lord. The graduates in the Student Council are: Elizabeth Gunderson, David Meltzer, Albert Rosenthal, Stanley Littlefield, George Dalrymple, Winifred Brown. STUDENTS SGOUR The Student Court is the arbiter between the students and the Traffic Squad. A work- ing part of our democratic school government, the Court sentences students who have violated school rules and are found guilty by the board of Associate Justices, consisting of six members and the Chief Justice. A Prosecuting Attorney and a Defense Attorney compose part of the Court. This term the officers are: Judge—Robert Saltmarsh Prosecuting Attorney—Edith Rubin Defense Attorney—John Marmaras Attendance Officer—Elsie Rodrigues Clerk of Court—Mariam Lampert Members of the Jury—Virginia Callas, Frank Golen, Jean Mahoney,Ella White, Joseph James Baptista, Jr. The graduates in the Student Court are: Edith Rubin and Elsie Rodrigues. 24 THE CRIMSON LOG
