Students Learned about Past and Future While some students read their ROOTS book in U.S. History, one takes time out tor a nap. Through Social Sciences, students gained a better understanding of what has happened in the past, and were given the opportunity to prepare for the future. Students Broaden Their English Knowledge Throughout the many English courses offered at NACHS, students are given an opporutnity to further develop their English skills. NACHS requires all students to earn at least four credits in the English department, including English I and II, and Basic Grammar and Basic Composition during the junior year if they earn a “D” or below in English II. The two remaining credits may be selected from elective semester courses. Annie Stephens and Jean Winter find that Free Reading can be a very relaxing subject. Jeana Hentzel is shown giving her speech The Correct Method of Using a Curling Iron. The aftereffects are shown below. Math Team Competed at Red Bud This year eight math courses were offered to students. A minimum of two math credits are required to graduate. Practical Math, Fun Math, Algebra I, Geometry, and Individualized Math are taught by Mr. Germann. Mr. Trotter teaches Technical Math, Business Math, and Algebra II. For the first time, NACHS organized a Math Team which competed at Red Bud High School. Through many hours of work, the students were taught to solve many different types of problems. At the contest, each student had to answer as many of sixty questions as they knew were correct. MATH TEAM: (Front Row) Lura Rettinghouse, Chris Boyett, Carrie Magill, and Jodi Bayer.
