Wrangler officers serving the first semester were: stand- ing4Lewis Pry, Jerry Montgomery, and Jack Gardner, seated-David Caylor and George Kraft. pate in the Rotary discussion and debate contest and the American Legion contest. Another annual project of the club is the pro- motion of pep sessions. The social highlight of the Wranglers' activities for this year was the annual spring dance which was held at the Ne '-.f r Albany Country Club. to build a better community The Build A Better Community Club was or- ganized in March, l95O. by Miss Ruth Braeuti- gam, who is now sponsoring the club. The pur- pose of the club is to further community spirit within our local area, ln November, at the time of the regular city election, a mock election was held, Student voters were required to register in their home rooms before casting their votes. Voting booths were installed on each floor of the main build- ing, with one in the annex, Regular election offi- cials were appointed for each polling place. The purpose of the election was to familiarize the high school students with the voting procedure and to raise their interest in civic matters, A school survey of recreational facilities and possibilities in every city school was conducted as part of a city survey. The club meets every Thursday during club period, Membership is open to any civic-minded student of New Albany High School. Officers for the year were Marilyn Shaffer, presidentg Austin Frentz, vice president, Donald Sisloff, secretary, James Lewis and Kenneth Scharf, treasurersg and John Schickel, sergeant at arms.
