First Semester Staff 1-........ Earl Fansler, editorg Jolene Webb, feature editorg Harriet Scribner, news editorg Ellis Flynn, sports editorg Louise Coulding, society editorg Marilyn Voignier, exchange editor. headlines, headaches, and havoc Mr, Cehlbach. printing instructor, and Earl Fansler, editor of the Blotter for the first semester, discuss page layouts, Mrs, Max Wiesman, adviser. assisted Patricia Salmon, who served as editor of the Blotter for the second SQFTIGSTQV. 20 The staff of the Blotter, NAI-IS newspaper, is composed of the members of the journalism classes. The main objectives of the staff are to keep the students informed of the activities and organiza- tions in school and to interpret the school to the community. The work provides training in the journalistic field and offers an opportunity for creative writing. Fourteen issues of the Blotter were published during the school year. The paper is printed in the high school print shop under the supervision of Albert Cehlbach, printing instructor. The climax of the first semester Blotter campaign was a variety show given for all subscribers. The annual senior-faculty basketball game terminated the second semester campaign. The faculty adviser for the first semester was Floyd A. Creech. Mr, Creech was called into thc United States Air Force in December, and Mrs. Roy Scott acted as faculty adviser for the remainder oi the semester. The second semester staff was under the direction of Mrs, Max Wiesman. Four staff members were enrolled at the Indiana l-ligh School Journalism Institute at Indiana Uni- versity last summer, Members of the staff also attended the Indiana High School Press Association meeting at Franklin College and the National Scholastic Press Association conference at Chicago.
