Russell lialxcr, W a , The Wlrangler Club is one of the oldest clubs ol NAHS since it was organized in 1910 by Mr. H. B. lN'IcLinn, former superintendent of schools. Mr. Mar- vin V. Oakes assumed sponsorship of the club in Robert Temple. llouald Sodrcl, ,loseph llurlic. liriice Ballard. and Russell lialicr present the liixtorx and activities of XYl!'.lHQlL'I'N over XYNXS. -vu -U z'ale4mea7 ca 1942 and has sponsored the club since that time ex- cepting for the three years he was in the service. The purposes of the Wfrangler Club are to pro- mote uublic s neakinv discussions debates and to ba 9 9 participate in any worthy function ol the school or community. Membership of this club consists of not more than twenty-live male students of the New Albany Senior High School. Members are chosen from the senior, junior, or sophomore classes, and membership is limited to students who have maintained an aver- age of an A or B in English and social science courses. The Wrztnglers helped sponsor, and members of the club participated in, the Spealqers-Xlifrangler Cup Contest this spring. The contest, consisting of stu- dents making a speech on some phase of social science, was presented before the student body dur- ing a special assembly. The annual Spring Formal at the Country Club, March 51, was a special event in the club's yearly program. The club also sponsored a Wrangler pep

Donald Nloser, Mr, Robert XYillm.in. ,4 Ezeddz' 74 7 ' adlq The New Albany High School Senior Hi-Y Club has chosen as its specific purpose the Hi-Y, Tri-Hi-Y slogan which is to create, maintain, and extend throughout the home, school, and community high standards of Christian character. The clubls general purpose was the extension of good citizenship throughout the student body of the high school. The club met on Tuesday, and during the club meetings members discussed the various ways in which they might hring about their dual pur- poses. Representatives of the club attended the fall dis- 250 trict meeting of Hi-Y and Tri-Hi-Y clubs at Scotts- burg, Indiana, and also the spring district meeting at Madison, Indiana. First semester officers were Kenton Jones, presi- dent, Charles Hunter, vice-president, Morton Wcdlfe, secretary, james Burner, treasurer, Stanley Wzigner, sergeant-at-arms, and Benjamin Bryant, chaplain. Second semester officers consisted of Donald Leist, president, Donald Evans, vice-president, Mor- ton Wcblfe, secretary, Williaiui Kemp, treasurer, Don- ald Yeager, sergeant-at-arms, and Benjamin Bryant, chaplain.
